santa and his "bench"

Tom and Jerry (real names) own a house on 21st street with a very large tree adorning the entrance. Every year, immediately following Thanksgiving, the pair decorate their tree and house into what we call, "the Xmas house." Seasoned blog followers may remember pictures of gigantic ornaments, train set, oversized stuffed animals...yep, that's them.

Last year, Santa visited the house daily until xmas eve, I believe. He sat on a bench between certain hours of the day, greeted kids, and gave out candy canes. Siri and I stopped by to say "Hi" once, and she hid her face the entire time. However, she remembers that house and always asks when Santa would be returning when we drive near the vicinity of that street.

Today, as we were driving out of the city, Siri suddenly remembered Santa on 21st street. She asked whether Santa was going to come back. We replied in the affirmative, and told her that she would have to wait until after Halloween and Thanksgiving for that to happen. What happened next caught us by surprise because Siri asked: "will Santa bring his bitch this time?" Jeff and I looked at each other, then laughed because Siri can't pronounce her "ns" very well, especially when it is in the middle of a word. Because we didn't really answer her question, she proceeds, "Is Santa going to sit on his bitch?" We had to answer, and said we'd have to wait and see whether he brings his bench this year.

As we were putting Siri to bed tonight, she sang "The Wheels on the Bus," and added some new passengers. One of them was Santa. The verse went something like this: "The Santa on the bus says "where's my bitch, where's my bitch, where's my bitch?" Then she changed it to "The Santa on the bus goes, i lost my bitch." We enunciated the "n" and she tried doing it too, but can't quite do it yet. Until she does, we await seeing Santa and his bitch in December.
