maia found a toy on the sand and excitedly ran toward siri and me with it in her hand. naturally, being a loving aunt, i confiscated it as soon as she reached me. both ends were semi-pointy.

we went to point reyes this past saturday with aunt jenn, uncle todd and maia. the trip included a short hike into the actual dune, and the kids had a blast once turned loose on the sand. both kiddos brought their sand toys, but had difficulty sharing. despite the 1.5 year difference in age, maia can definitely hold her own. we enjoyed a picnic lunch while doing something nature-y. it's nice to get out of the city and breathe fresh air every once in a while.
