worst.temper.tantrum.ever

siri told her babies they would be sharing a stroller. in fact, "ipa/gramma baby" (aka cylon), was sitting in the stroller first when siri brought over baby sam and told her/him that s/he should thank ipa/gramma baby for sharing the stroller. siri told me to "take picture" after she posed the babies. **note: we're not imposing gender neutrality on baby sam, or any of the babies for that matter. siri just hasn't expressed genders for her babies, with the exception of new baby, so we're just going with it until she decides who/what they are.
siri *loved* making pizza dough. she also loved helping with the toppings, although she ate most of them (especially the olives) before they made it onto the pizza.

the outfit jeff wanted to wear to our friend's wedding...

we decided that since today's a holiday, jeff and i would work half day, and pick up siri from school around lunch time. we confirmed this with teacher kim this morning when we dropped off siri, and went off to work in a coffee shop. we arrive at the school around 12:10, ready to have lunch on a weekday as a family, and siri was not having it. she wanted to "eat here [school]," and refused to put on her coat or boots. teacher kim tried to help by telling siri we're going out to lunch and she'll probably get a treat afterwards. that didn't help either. siri started wailing, screaming "eat here!" jeff picked up siri and took her to the car while i carried her jacket and boots.

we remained in the school driveway for roughly 10 minutes as siri arched her back and refused to get in her car seat. she screamed "go back teacher kim's!" "no go out!" "no daddy!" why she blamed jeff for the early pickup is beyond me. we finally caught her off guard and got her strapped into her car seat only to have her scream the entire way to the restaurant. at one point, we contemplated just going home, and forgetting about our weekday lunch. but, i thought she'd calm down when we got the restaurant, and she did...eventually. we double parked on the side of the street while i cradled her and promised we would never take her out of school in the middle of the day again, and that she would go back to teacher kim's tomorrow. we have also committed to memory today's date: february 21, 2011 as the day that siri definitively expressed to us she loves school. we will remind her of this date (and her actions) when she's a teenager. mark our words.

on the bright side, here are some recent pictures.

While I'm sure it was a horrible experience for both of you at the time, we've gotten a good laugh out of it.

fun times! we've had some of those lately with Zane refusing to wear his coat when it is freezing out. Screamed for the whole first 10 minutes of our hike with J, T & M until I gave his coat to Maia!
