working backwards

cute baby gosling + curious toddler = hissing geese
siri and gramma
siri, daddy and ipa identify mountains
three sisters, broken top, and others (that's all i can do)
siri loved going potty on the side of the road/freeway/highway. here's her near some podunk in oregon on her travel potty. she freaked out minutes later when she saw ants crawling all over the place. such a city kid.

i've gotten a couple of complaints for not updating our blog, and my sincerest apologies. truth is, i just haven't been in the mood to do it, and it's time consuming. sometimes, i'd rather do other things, like read, or code, or fb (or update my other blog ;). but, alas, i'm going to work backwards and get us caught up.

parenting win moment: siri and her classmates decorated pinatas on paper (a drawing of a pinata). teacher kim had them glue "candy" (multicolored cotton balls) onto the picture to fill their pinatas. siri informed kim, "i'm not supposed to have candy," so kim said that her cotton balls were cookies, and siri happily decorated her pinata. sometimes i feel like we're a little too strict with this one, and she's going to be the oddball compared with her classmates: no t.v., no candy, no nuts, asks whether certain fruits are organic before consuming, etc., etc. but, at other times, i'm okay with the temporary oddness. she'll fit in. they all do -- into one clique or another. for now, i am very proud of her for rejecting pretend candy in the form of multicolored cotton balls.
