during my last visit to sf, jeff and i went to the symphony. there were three numbers total, and the final number was beethoven's 7th. the baby moved around a lot during the performance of the 7th, and we decided that she must like beethoven so bought a beethoven cd. i play the cd regularly -- about 2-3 times a week. at first it seemed coincidental, and it still may be coincidence, but the baby gets REALLY active when beethoven begins playing. i've been documenting the times of day that i press that play button, and it's not that consistent -- sometimes in the earlier morning, sometimes midday, and sometimes in the late afternoon/early evening. i'm not sure whether she loves beethoven or hates him. i don't get the same amount or type of activity when i play kitaro, enya, bob dylan or johnny cash.
it's also really, really hot. okay, perhaps it's not really THAT hot (hovering around mid 70s to low 80s), but i'm constantly warm. we have one fan that is confined to the upstairs, which btw, evie absolutely loves and willingly ditches me to sprawl out in front of it. we need something else. an a/c, a swamp cooler or more fans should do it. jeff's projects when he comes home next weekend: buy one (or a few) of the above and install it (them), and buy/install a screen door for our front door so we can get some more breeze in here. the warmth makes it a bit difficult to concentrate on being productive, so i'm updating our blog instead.
and, p.s. -- the baby hiccups at least two times during each day. at first i was a bit alarmed, thinking something was wrong since the "movements" (if you can call them that) were light and rhythmic feeling and seemed to affect my entire uterus. then i caught up on my reading, and it turns out they're baby hiccups. it's super cute.
