thoughts...

i think that one of the most surreal and exciting moments for a parent-to-be must be when one can actually see the baby's movement from the outside of the womb. as jeff said in the previous post, i had been able to feel movement for a couple of weeks now, but this week, this week marks some pretty incredible advancement! the baby's movements are getting a lot stronger and i can actually see when she kicks or moves rather "violently." every once in a while there will be a violent kick or punch and a small spot on my abdomen lifts up. this is rather exciting and has become the favorite part of my day.

it's strange to think that an actual living being is sharing my body right now. it's also an empowering feeling to know that only women are able to do this...despite the fact my role in life seems to have been reduced to that of an incubator.

oh, and p.s. -- that small tuft of light brown hair has now expanded in length and size: it now frames my face a bit. soon enough, you all can start calling me "rogue."
